This Porsche Swap Meet is really becoming a tradition
It's been the 6th time yet that Paul-Ernst Strähle Junior and Marco Marinello (elevenparts) scheduled this event in the first weekend of November. And once again it was a huge success.
What started as a fairly small event in PLuderhausen, definitely has grown out to an event which is written in many agendas of Porsche afficionados long time before the event takes place. Actually I consider it an event which cannot be missed.
About 50 vendors were allowed in the Galerie of Kunst and Technik in Schorndorf, and no less than 20 vendors had to be turned down, for the simple reason the place was just completely full. Over 700 visitors showed up, coming from all over Europe, as I met people from Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands. There's even people coming over from the USA to visit this Swap Meet.
Lots of great stuff this year too. I noticed quite a lot of 356 Carrera stuff, a Porsche 904 spare parts list, which I believe was a bit overpriced. More intresting literature that could be found was a original Porsche 550 Spyder manual, the very rare 1949 Porsche 356 Gmünd brochure, and even the Porsche 356 Gmünd brochure printed by the Swiss car dealer Ebener.
Walter Näher was there to autogramm his amazing Porsche 917 book, which deserves an article soon too. The author, who helped developing the Porsche 917 engine brought Hans Mezger , a mechanic, and Peter Falk, the race leader of Porsche to autogramm the book. You can imagine the book was sold out real soon.
And of course, on the parking lot, the Porsche hearts were spoiled too, with some nice cars as you can see on the pictures.
