The Basel Pantheon is a swiss oldtimer concept, one could compare it in my opinion to the Meilenwerke places
in Germany. The Pantheon has meeting rooms for those that want to have a meeting with everything that has to
do with vintage cars in the background. Ofcourse there are restaurant facilities, it houses a extensive
professional workshop, offers possibilities to sell and trade your vintage car and so on...
Since October, the Pantheon has a exceptional exhibition about Porsche. Till April 3rd you can visit this exhibition
and you definitely should get in your car or plane to visit the exhibition. You don't have that much opportunities
to see some of the rarest Porsches in one single place.
It's rare to spot one of the first Porsches, better known as the Gmünd Porsches, but at the Pantheon you have the opportunity
to admire 3 356 Gmünd : 003, 004 and 052. It is the very first time these 3 cars are shown to the public at the same time. No,
these Gmünds aren't the only intresting car, since there's 1 of only 7 build Porsche Beutlers, the 356 predecessor of the Panamerea 4seater.
And to make the list complete... how about the 911 GT1, a 959, a 550 RS Spyder, a 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, a Carrera RS 3.0, an ex-Herbert
Müller Porsche 930, a 906, two 356 Pre-A - coupé and cabirolet -, several 356 A, B, C, Carrera GT (Speedster, Convertible D, B Roadster,
Cabriolet and Coupe), a Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster 1989 Turbolook, a wrecked 356 A Carrera GS - several 911 and
914 (914/6 and 914/4) as well as a brandnew Boxster S Spyder, a 924 Turbo, a 928 and a Porsche Tractor.
Quite intresting, isn't it. And you are into literature and toys too ? Well, some of the rarest literature and manuals are in the exhibition too,
like the 2 ultra-rare Porsche 356 Gmünd manuals.. Just watch the pictures and decide wheter you want to see this with your own eyes.
I bet you do.
