The field of the 2011 edition of the Ypres rally looked impressive with pilots from stars from the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), the European Rally Championship (ERC) and the Belgian Rally Championship (BRC). What can a rally-loving heart desire more ?
The historic part attracted lots of intresting Porsches, among them a Porsche 911 Turbo( Schewe Heinz-Walter / Frank Blondeel), a 2.8 Porsche 911 RSR (Janssens Glenn / Prevot Stephane) and ofcourse the usual Porsches 911T , Porsches 911SC ...
Unfortunately the beautifull 911 Turbo from the former german Champion (1976) Schewe couldn't complete the first special.
Robert Droogmans gained overall victory in the FIA Historic in his Ford MKII, second was Frederic Chambon in a Porsche 911, and Janota Miroslav completed the podium after a great race in his Opel Kadett C GTE.
After a great weekend, filled with lots of action, adventure and tons of racing fun, we're looking forward to the 2012 edition.
